Managing Director / Funeral Director

As the fifth generation of the Box family, Richard gained his Diploma in Funeral Directing in 1976. Born and bred in Dewsbury and with more than 44 years experience, he is probably one of the most senior people in the UK profession.

Andrew Box
Andrew Box
Dip FD, MBIFD, MBIE

Director / Funeral Director

Andrew Box is the youngest of the sixth generation of the family. He is responsible for arranging and coordinating funerals and the collection of all loved ones.

In 1995, at the age of 17, he was the youngest person in the UK, at the time, to achieve the National Association of Funeral Directors' Diploma.

Manager / Funeral Director

Since returning to the family business in 1998, Edward has turned Box's into a funeral directors for the 21st Century.

He has developed a full educational programme for organisations, nursing staff and the general public, and also introduced a full aftercare service.

Chris Harrison
Chris Harrison
MBIE, Foundation Certificate in Funeral Directing

Embalmer

Chris joined the company as a funeral operative and trainee funeral director after leaving school in the Summer of 2002. He went on to train as an embalmer, qualifying in 2009 to become a member of the British Institute of Embalmers.

Polly Bennett
Polly Smith
Dip FD, MBIFD, Bereavement Counsellor

Aftercare Manager & Funeral Director

Polly joined the company in 2003. She offers counselling, home visits, runs a children's resource centre, coordinates support group meetings, and was fundamental in setting up the START bereavement group. With more than ten years experience, Polly is highly qualified in pre and post bereavement support.

Virginia Pollitt

Housekeeper

Already a familiar face in the community, Virginia has been with the company since December 1998. She is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the bereavement home on Bradford Road.

Linda Pearson

Ossett Office Manager

Linda joined joined Box's in Summer 2004 and, as manager of the Ossett Bereavement Home, is the first point of contact for our families. She has lived in the town for more than 30 years..

Funeral Operative

Alan joined the firm in 2009 as a funeral operative and driver, and is now a regular member of the Box family.
