Ossett office for funeral directors

A family owned firm of funeral directors is celebrating 150 years in business by opening an office in Ossett.

Eric F Box is moving into the town after spending many years providing funeral services to families in the area from its head office in Dewsbury The family-run business, offering funeral and after care services such as bereavement counselling, has opened a satellite office in Ossett town centre.

Manager Edward Box said: "As a town Ossett is growing, with more houses being built and more people moving in. Over recent years we've found ourselves answering an increasing number of requests for funeral services in the area.

"We want to be closer to these people and to make it easier for them to make arrangements. It makes sense to be on the doorstep.

"In addition, a lot of Dewsbury and Batley families are moving into Ossett, families who have already used our services."

The firm will still perform the majority of its work at the purpose-built funeral home, three miles away at Bradford Road, Dewsbury.

The Eric F Box Ossett office is operating from pedestrianised Station Road, next door to Kendall estate agents and will be staffed by one of the Box family.
